A family science outing in Ocala does not have to occupy an entire day. The city’s Discovery Center recommends allowing about 45 minutes to an hour to explore its animal exhibits, interactive discovery hallway and upstairs rotating exhibition space.
All three areas are included in general admission. The center says it presents three different exhibitions each year, giving returning visitors a reason to check what is currently on display before booking another trip.

The address is 701 NE Sanchez Avenue. Published visiting hours are Tuesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., with last admission at 3:30 p.m. An accessible entrance and parking area are behind the building; the Sanchez Avenue entrance has stairs.
For households comparing costs, the city lists a family-of-four admission option and free exhibit admission for qualifying Museums for All participants. Add-on programming is separate. Check the current admission page and closure calendar before leaving, especially around exhibit installations and holidays.
An easy approach is to let each child choose one thing to examine closely, rather than racing to finish every station. The smaller time commitment can make room for a return visit when the exhibition changes.
